History

In 1968, Hans-Erich Böhl already founded a small smithery in his own garage in Gemünden-Grüsen. In the first years he developed some possibilities which improved metal processing.
In 1973, this process resulted in the development of the world’s first wrought iron machine which will become a great success worldwide over the years. In the same year Hans-Erich Böhl founded hebö Maschinenfabrik GmbH. The construction of the first production hall needed to be realised in a little while. The building which was completed in 1975 already needed to be enlarged in 1979 in order to meet the numerous sales orders.
In 1978, the first machine was sold abroad and the export of our innovative products increased. This circumstance led to the establishment of a worldwide export distribution business in 1993. Only ten years later hebö provided agencies and customers from over 80 countries of the world with products and services. Today, the products are sold in all five continents of the world. Furthermore, they are also successfully presented at exhibitions all over the world.

Until today, hebö Maschinenfabrik GmbH still sets standards with its metal working machines in the field of reshape. The development department and the construction department advance the standard machines (e.g. the tube drilling machine which was award-winning in 2004) as well as the special-purpose machines as well as machines which are ordered according to customer demands. However, hebö Maschinenfabrik GbmH has not forgotten about its roots and maintained its own smithery which existed since the beginning until today.
